Essen, 3rd September 2018 – SMAP Energy has been selected for entry to E.ON’s corporate incubator program :agile accelerator.

SMAP Energy was selected on the basis of a perceived strategic fit between the company’s smart meter analytics services and E.ON’s drive to improve its customers’ experience. As a member of the :agile class, SMAP Energy will receive support in the form up to €22.000 funding as well as office space in Düsseldorf, Berlin, or Essen and professional coaching on product, sales and marketing advancement. Over the 3-month program, E.ON and SMAP Energy will develop a pilot for future collaboration between the two firms.

Established in 2013 to provide an in-house innovation launchpad, the :agile accelerator has widened its scope and now accepts application from the entirety of the European market. Successful startups typically continue working with E.ON over an 18-month incubation phase where projects are tested under real conditions, with real customers and have extensively access to E.ON’s network of internal and external partners.
Funnelling over 90 startups each year to just 6 applicants, E.ON has now achieved a legacy of over 60 successful participants.
