SMAP Energy, a University of Cambridge spinout providing data analytics solutions to energy utilities, announced today the successful close of a £175K pre-seed funding round. This funding follows the successful completion of early stage trials with utility clients since the company’s foundation in February 2016.
“We plan to use these funds to continue the growth of our flagship product – Smart Meter Analytics Platform – and the support launch of our new energy switching service – AIswitch. With these offerings combined, we will continue towards the realisation of a comprehensive Energy AI solution that will reduce the cost of energy for consumers and utilities alike,” said company co-founder Yohei Kiguchi.
SMAP Energy is currently working with clients in Japan and the Middle East, and has recently launched AIswitch – an automated energy switching service for UK energy consumers.
